Dotemu and The Game Kitchen have announced a new update for Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, giving players a free Yakumo costume to mark the upcoming release of Ninja Gaiden 4. It’s a small but exciting way to connect the latest spin-off with the next mainline title in Team Ninja’s legendary action series.
A Free Gift for Every Player

The Yakumo outfit comes at no extra cost and is automatically unlocked for all players on every platform. That means no additional downloads, in-game challenges, or microtransactions — it’s simply there when you launch the game. Along with the update, the developers released a short trailer showing the costume in motion, highlighting Yakumo’s distinct design and how well it blends with Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound’s intense combat system.
This gesture not only rewards existing players but also builds anticipation for Ninja Gaiden 4, which will feature Yakumo as the new protagonist. By including his outfit in Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, the team is subtly linking both games, giving fans a glimpse of what’s next for the franchise.
The Story of Ragebound

For those who haven’t played it yet, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound tells the story of Kenji Mozu, a young disciple of Ryu Hayabusa. When his master leaves Hayabusa Village, Kenji is forced to defend it against a massive demonic invasion. In desperation, he forms a temporary alliance with the Black Spider Clan, a group once considered his sworn enemies. Together, they face off against an ancient Demon Lord threatening to destroy everything.
Dual Protagonists and Tight Combat

The game also introduces a second playable character — Kumori, an assassin with her own storyline and fighting style. Players can switch between Kenji and Kumori as their paths intertwine, creating a layered experience that mixes classic Ninja Gaiden speed with modern cinematic storytelling.
Every encounter in Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound rewards precision, timing, and aggression — all trademarks of the series. With its slick visuals and challenging combat, it serves as both a love letter to fans and an introduction for newcomers.
Available Now
Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is available now on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S. The Yakumo costume update is already live, so players can jump back in, slice through demons, and get a taste of what’s to come in Ninja Gaiden 4.
