The latest costume for Goddess of Victory: NIKKE character Blanc has sparked debate among players over its unusual design choice. The new “Fortune Express” winter outfit features a coat and boots suitable for cold weather, but notably lacks pants leaving the character in stockings and underwear.
The design has drawn criticism from players, with many calling it a low-effort attempt at fan service. Players have pointed out that while the outfit covers more than Blanc’s default bunny suit, seeing her at an open-air train station without bottoms feels impractical and awkward rather than stylish.

In response to the complaints, Dore, the artist behind the new NIKKE costume, explained that the design was intentional and based on a real fashion trend called “pantless fashion.” This style, which has grown popular among models and celebrities over the past two years, typically involves wearing underwear or leotards over tights. According to Vogue, the trend takes inspiration from looks previously worn by dancers and fitness personalities.
The explanation surprised many Japanese players on social media, with numerous users commenting that they learned something new. This reaction makes sense, as the pantless fashion trend hasn’t gained much traction among Japanese celebrities.
