BBGame HK has launched their new mobile game, New Romance of The Three Kingdoms. In addition to the game’s release, they released a live-action trailer of the game.
New Romance of The Three Kingdoms is based on the popular strategy franchise, Romance of The Three Kingdoms (ROTK). The franchise had existed since 1985 and has garnered a large fanbase over the years. Among the games, Romance of The Three Kingdoms XI stood out as it focused more on individual buildings and management. New Romance of The Three Kingdoms is a remake of ROTK XI with new features added into it.
Similar to the previous games in the franchise, the mobile game is a large scale strategy game with emphasis on kingdom building and management. This time however, the game is mainly a multiplayer game, connecting players globally through 1 million tiles in game. Battles take place in real-time which will result in players having to make decisions and adaptations on the fly.
Players will need to manage their kingdom from multiple angles to keep it competitive against other players. Recruiting generals and upgrading troops play important roles in keeping the kingdom strong. On the other hand, a successful management of supplies keeps the kingdom going. Armies and kingdoms lacking the necessary amount of supplies tend to suffer drawbacks as they cannot fight at full strength.
Other aspects of the franchise also made it into the mobile game. One of the standouts is the bond system that the more recent Romance of The Three Kingdoms games have implemented. Players can form relationships with the generals and other characters through this system. In exchange, the generals receive bonuses that will help them win battles.
