SEGA has announced that Muzan Kibutsuji, the progenitor of demons, is now available in Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2. This free update lets players control one of the series’ most iconic villains. To showcase his devastating abilities, SEGA has also released a new trailer highlighting his VS Mode gameplay.
Infinity Castle Character Pass Expands the Roster
Alongside Muzan’s arrival, SEGA revealed the Infinity Castle Character Pass. This paid expansion adds new fighters from the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie. Kaigaku will debut in Fall 2025, followed by Zenitsu Agatsuma in his Infinity Castle form.
Later updates will introduce Tanjiro Kamado, Giyu Tomioka, Shinobu Kocho, Doma, and Akaza, all in their Infinity Castle versions. Each fighter will also be available separately, giving players the choice to expand their roster as they prefer.
Editions and Bonus Content for Players
The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is available in both physical and digital editions for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Steam. The Standard Edition offers the base game, while the Deluxe Edition includes exclusive costumes, early unlock tokens, and special VS Mode voice lines.

Furthermore, players who carry over save data from the first Hinokami Chronicles or Sweep the Board! can unlock bonus characters, costumes, and additional voices.

Developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Aniplex and SEGA, the game continues to expand the world of Koyoharu Gotoge’s hit manga. The original series has sold more than 220 million copies worldwide. Meanwhile, the franchise’s popularity grows even further with Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, the first part of a three-part finale now screening in Japanese theaters.
