Via the very latest Weekly Famitsu issue, we now has fresh details on Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation, the recently-announced smartphone game which will be developed by Sega and Atlus.

From what we gathered, the scenario is written by Fukami Makoto, while Iwamoto Tatsuro will take care of character designs. As the protagonist, whose gender can be selected, you have the ability to summon demons using your smartphone via the ‘Devil Downloader’ (Dx) app. As a member of the “Liberators,” a secret organization tasked with protecting the world, you are embroiled in a conflict between Dx2 users.

By going through “Aura Gates”, you will be exploring 3D dungeons where you will be encountering demons. The trademark demon negotiation and skill inheritance systems are intact will return. Combat will be somewhat different however, as you yourself will not participate in the battle. Instead, you will have four demons who will do your bidding.

With the Tokyo Game Show taking place next week, expect more details on the game.
