Capcom surprised us tonight with not one but two Monster Hunter announcements. Monster Hunter Stories 2 was announced for the Nintendo Switch. The game would be available Summer 2021.
Stories 2 has you playing as a descendant of Red, the protagonist of the first game. Something is happening to the Rathalos, and the game’s characters must figure out what’s causing it.
They haven’t shown much else about gameplay, or the game’s story.
The game also features monsters from newer Monster Hunter games, such as World’s Anjanath. One of the other riders in the game is also seen using a Legiana.
Unlike the also announced Monster Hunter Rise, the release date for Stories 2 is a lot more ambiguous. It’s coming some time in the summer though, so we’ll have that to look forward to.
