Konami has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater will launch on August 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, its newly announced Fox Hunt multiplayer mode will not be available at launch, instead arriving later this fall as a free post-release update.
First revealed during Konami’s Press Start broadcast in June, Fox Hunt is described as a “thrilling hide-and-seek-based online multiplayer” that builds on the camouflage and survival mechanics central to the Metal Gear series. Directed by veteran developer Yu Sahara, the mode takes inspiration from the popular “Sneaking” rule in Metal Gear Online, but aims to deliver a fresh, modernized experience.
Stealth and Strategy at the Core

Fox Hunt focuses on intense stealth encounters rather than traditional shootouts. Players will use advanced camouflage systems to blend seamlessly into their surroundings, creating tense cat-and-mouse gameplay where patience and strategy are key to victory.

Konami’s official description notes that the mode will feature the latest graphical enhancements to elevate the suspense, taking hide-and-seek combat “to a whole new level.”
Main Game Launches First

While Fox Hunt will require a short wait, the core Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater experience launches later this month. The remake stays true to the original 2004 classic while featuring revamped visuals, quality-of-life improvements, and the same iconic story of Naked Snake’s mission in the Soviet jungle.
Fans attending Gamescom 2025 from August 20–24 will also get a chance to play an exclusive demo ahead of the game’s official release.
You can pre-order Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater now on their official website.
