According to the official Version 3.3 update documentation, HoYoverse included the following note under the audio section:

“When the voice language is set to English, the voice actors for the characters ‘Trailblazer (Male)’ and ‘Trailblazer (Female)’ have been adjusted: Adjusts the in-battle voice lines for ‘Trailblazer (Remembrance: Ice),’ their dialogues in the Trailblaze Missions of Version 3.3, and their audio assets in ‘As I Have Written.’ Other relevant audio assets will be updated in the future.”

The patch notes have generated considerable discussion among fans. On HoYoLab, players have been analyzing the exact wording, with some uncertain about what the changes actually entail:

“No mention of Trailblazer’s voice actors being replaced?” one commenter noted. “Interestingly enough, yeah no mentions of it at all. Makes me doubt they did get changed at all,” replied another. “I’m guessing that the people in the comments of Hyacine’s trailer were wrong then?” questioned a third commenter.

Another player expressed concern: “I don’t see anything about Stelle’s and Caelus’s EN VAs being replaced, is that going to be announced next patch, or are they still safe? I know some might disagree, but I REALLY hope they don’t get replaced.”

Possible Phased Implementation After Honkai Star Rail 3.3

If the voice actors have indeed been recast, the changes won’t be implemented across all content immediately. A Reddit user commented on the gradual implementation similar to another Hoyoverse game Genshin IMpact: “So it’s like Kinich in Genshin, only new lines for now, older will be replaced in future. So it will be mix of both VAs for now. There is also lots of NPC VA changes (not even for EN, but looks like for JP also).”

The Honkai Star Rail 3.3 update is scheduled to go live on May 21st, 2025, with approximately 5 hours of maintenance time. HoYoverse has not specified who the new voice actors might be or provided explicit reasons for the adjustments.
