Honkai Impact 3rd is no stranger to bizarre promotions, having done dating sims and a slew of borderline-misleading ads for the mobile hack-n-slash. This time, they’ve collaborated with figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva to create a short concept film.
The concept film features Medvedeva dressed like the game’s newest battlesuit, Dea Angora, performing impressive skating techniques.
As previously mentioned, it’s definitely one of the stranger promotions the game has done. However, it certainly helps it stand out, and shows that Mihoyo is open to working with overseas talent in unorthodox ways to promote their games.
The promoted battlesuit, Dea Angora, is coming via the Honkai Impact 3rd V4.4 update, Aurelia Invicta. It advances the game’s story as well as adding the new battlesuit for the character Durandal.
It features a Bio-typing, as well as powerful hand-to-hand moves alongside its ult, Astral Harness. This also changes her moveset, allowing her to cast more powerful attacks on enemies.
Medvedeva is an two-time Olympic silver medallist, among a host of other skating achievements such as European Champion, World Champion and Grand Prix Final Champion and more. She’s currently listed as the 13th ranked Ladies’ Singles champion in the world following the year’s skating season.
