Helldivers 2 Announces Release Date, Pre-Orders to Begin Soon 

Arrowhead Game Studios has revealed the release date for its third-person multiplayer co-op alien slaying shooter, Helldivers 2.

As revealed during Sony Interactive Entertainment’s recent State of Play, Helldivers 2 is set to release on the PlayStation 5 and Windows PC via Steam on 8 February 2024.

In Helldivers 2, up to 3 players will team up for an online multiplayer co-op third-person shootout against aliens through stratagems and explore exotic planets while completing objectives together.

The game will also feature a deep progression system in the form of equipment upgrades and players can collect natural resources of alien origin to use them for enhancements and stratagems unlocks.

Super Citizen Edition

In addition, the pre-orders for both the Standard and Super Citizen Edition of Helldivers 2 are scheduled to start on 22 September 2023.

Players pre-ordering the Super Citizen Edition will be able to obtain a special DP-53 Savior of the Free armor set and the Will of the People cape to stand out among the crowd.

Furthermore, players will also gain access to the MP-98 Knight submachine gun, a powerful primary weapon, as well as the Super Citizen status for their Helldiver.

In addition to those, players who pre-ordered the Super Citizen Edition will be able to unlock the minigame Stratagem Hero for their ship to play while waiting for the rest of the teammates.

Moreover, Super Citizen Edition owners will also receive access to Premium Warbond content for Steeled Veterans.

Pre-Order Bonuses

Aside from the Super Citizen Edition, every player who pre-ordered Helldivers 2 will also receive special bonuses.

For fans who pre-ordered Helldivers 2, they will receive the following 3 new armor sets:

• TR-7 Ambassador of the Brand – A promotional equipment for fans of SUMY Corp’s frozen yogurt.
• TR-62 Knight – An armor forged to bring justice to the darkest crevices of the universe.
• TR-9 Cavalier of Democracy – Bearers of this armor ride no equine mount, but are nonetheless borne to battle atop the trusty steed of Libert.

The announcement of Helldivers 2 was accompanied by a gameplay video showcasing one of the many challenges fans can expect in the game, featuring Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Johan Pilestedt and the development team taking on a Bile Titan.

Helldivers 2 is slated to launch on 8 February 2024 for the PlayStation 5 and Windows PC via Steam, and pre-orders will begin on 22 September 2022.
