As announced last week, the playable demo for Hell Is Us is now available to download and play on PS5. On console, you can find it on the PlayStation Store by navigating to Collections, scrolling to the Demos for You section, and selecting View All. Hell Is Us should be the first icon you see. The demo size is just over 12.2 GB, so ensure you have enough space before downloading.

This release also follows earlier and parallel launches on other platforms. The demo first appeared for PC via Steam from June 2 to June 16, 2025, during a limited-time preview. Xbox Series X|S players can also access the demo starting August 12, 2025, launching on the same day as the PS5 version.
What the Demo Includes
The demo starts at the very beginning of the game. You’ll step into the shoes of Rémi, the main protagonist, as he descends into the mysterious land of Hadea.

This introduction showcases the game’s core mechanics and gives a taste of the tense, exploration-driven gameplay. However, it’s only a small portion of the full experience — key elements such as the broader world and deeper player-driven exploration are reserved for the full release.

A World Without Handholding
Hell Is Us has drawn attention for its design philosophy. Instead of objective markers, it pushes players to explore organically, discover secrets, and piece together clues through their own curiosity. This makes the demo a perfect test run for anyone wondering if this approach is for them.

With just weeks until launch, this free trial is a prime chance to see if Hell Is Us is worth adding to your PS5 library.
