Of course, while your first thought might be to slap on every piece of job affinity gear you can grab your hands on, that’s not always the case- about halfway through the game, you’ll get access to one of the best spots to farm for job XP in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin.
While you may want to just organically grow into the jobs you want, you’ll definitely find this more necessary later on, considering how the game loves to compound job requirements on you and you realize you’ve left entire categories of jobs untouched but need them to get to their Expert-level counterparts and their great passive skills.
You’ll unlock the area you want in the game just after clearing the Fire Crystal. In the main mission Phantoms of the Past, you’ll want to make your way to the third checkpoint.
Thankfully, Phantoms of the Past is one of the more straightforward levels in the game, and most of the jobber enemies can easily be run past since most of the level is flat terrain with close range enemies. You will still need to fight at least one ogre though, so don’t let your guard down entirely.
Right outside the third checkpoint is a Hippogriff. This enemy always drops an Anima Shard, and will respawn if you hit the checkpoint again. The two are so close to each other that you could easily be swimming in job XP for any of your classes, without having to waste a slot on actually switching to them first.
This tactic works even better in the game’s multiplayer, since you can easily just have the player controlling Jack reset the checkpoint the moment the Anima Shard appears, meaning you save all those seconds of running back to the checkpoint for even more Anima Shards.
Finally, once you’ve farmed to your heart’s content, you can just go back to the checkpoint to access your Job Trees and spend those Anima Shards on whichever Job you need to level next.
