[Guide] Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis – Weapons Recommendations

Weapons will be playing a major role in Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, the latest Square Enix mobile title that features classic and new stories of iconic characters in the world of Midgar.

Unlike other gacha games, you obtain characters for free in Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis but roll for a chance to acquire unique weapons. Each weapon can come in all available rarities from 3-star to 5-star, and once a higher rarity variant is obtained, the lower-tier ones will be replaced.

Of course, their strength differs and many may wonder which weapons to target for specific characters. Here is a list of recommended weapons for each character in Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, including the extra abilities they provide and the reason behind their strength.

Do note that the list is based on early impressions and the weapons’ strength may differ in the future when more content drops.

Cloud Strife 

Starting the list with the protagonist of Final Fantasy VII, Cloud Strife, a physical DPS with multiple strong single-target abilities, making him an ideal character for battling against bosses.

Murasame
	Deals Physical non-elemental damage to a single enemy with a chance to inflict a critical hit. Additionally, also decreases the target's defenses.	Increases Physical and Magical Attack.	Increases Wind Resistances.	Has the ability to reduce the physical defense of enemies by a high amount, extremely useful against bosses.
Hardedge
	Deals Physical non-elemental damage to a single enemy with a chance to inflict a critical hit.	Increases Physical and Magical Attack.	Increases Wind Ability Potency.	Has one of the highest non-elemental physical damage single-target abilities in the game, as well as the passive to boost Wind damage.
Apocalypse

Barret Wallace

Next up is Barret Wallace, a long-range physical specialist with high HP and multiple AoE damage options.

	Increases the defense of all allies and apply healing to them.	Increases healing strength.	Increases Earth Resistance	The only weapon in the game right now that has a wide AoE buffing ability in the form of increasing the defense of all allies.
Assault Gun
	Deals Physical non-elemental damage to a single enemy with a chance to inflict a critical hit. Additionally, also decreases the target's defenses.	Increases Physical Attack.	Increases Lightning Resistances.	Has the ability that can be cast very often, keeping enemy defenses reduced regularly.
W Machine
	Deals Physical non-elemental damage to a single enemy with a chance to inflict a critical hit.	Increases HP.	When ATK Stance Gauge Max, increases Physical and Magical Ability Potency.	One of the strongest single-target damage option for Barret.
Solid Bazooka

Tifa Lockheart

Everybody’s favorite brawler, Tifa, is a powerful DPS with Physical and Magical hybrid damage. She is also great at debuffing enemies and cleansing herself of ailments.

	Deals Physical Wind damage to a single enemy.	Increases Physical Attack.	Increases Wind Ability Potency.	Might just be Tifa’s strongest DPS weapon, especially for its single-target Physical Wind damage ability in the game.
Motor Drive
	Deals Physical non-elemental to a single enemy with a chance to inflict a critical hit. Additionally, enemies hit will have their Magic Attack decreased.	Increases Magical Attack.	Increases Critical Potency.	Has a single-target ability that deals extremely high Physical non-elemental damage that also decreases the foe’s Magic Attack.
Tiger Fangs
	Deals Physical non-elemental to a single enemy with a chance to inflict a critical hit. Additionally, enemies hit will have their Physical Attack decreased.	Increases Physical Defense.	Increases Fire Resistance.	Similar to Tiger Fangs, but decreases the Physical Attack of enemies instead. Great weapon to use against bosses before their big attacks.
Sonic Striker

Aerith Gainsborough

Aerith, the last of the Cetra, is arguably one of the best healers in the game, thus making her useful for many difficult content.

	Heals all allies.	Increases healing strength.	Increases Earth Resistance.	The best healing weapon in the game and has the highest Healing Potency of all weapons.
Fairy Tale
	Deals Physical non-elemental damage to all enemies with a chance to inflict a critical hit. Additionally, decreases the Physical Attack of all enemies.	Increases Physical Attack.	Increases Ice Resistance.	Able to deal AoE Physical non-elemental damage that decreases the Physical Attack of all enemies.
Full Metal Staff
	Heals all allies, as well as increasing their Physical and Magic Defenses.	Increases Magic Defense.	Increases Lightning Resistance.	A team-wide Physical and Magic Defense increase buffing weapon that can also provide some heals.
Mythril Rod

Zack Fair

The main protagonist of Crisis Core joins the game as a powerful Physical and Magical hybrid DPS with great AoE elemental attacks.

Falchion
	Deals Physical non-elemental damage to a single target with a chance to inflict a critical hit.	Increases Physical and Magical damage.	When ATK Stance Gauge Max, increases Physical and Magical Ability Potency.	The weapon with one of the strongest single-target Physical non-elemental damage abilities in the game and has an extremely high skill multiplier.
Zweihander
	Deals Physical non-elemental damage to a single enemy with a chance to inflict a critical hit. Additionally, also decreases the target's defenses.	Increases Physical Attack.	When ATK Stance Gauge Max, increases Physical and Magical Ability Potency.	Similar to Cloud’s Hardedge, possessing a powerful single-target Physical non-elemental damage that can also reduce enemy defenses.
Cutlass

Red XIII

Canine buddy, Red XIII is a strong mage who can restore HP to allies through health regeneration buffs.

Gold Collar
	Deals Magical non-elemental damage to all enemies with a chance to inflict a critical hit. Additionally, decreases the Magic Defense of all enemies.	Increases Magic Attack.	Increases Earth Resistance.	Able to inflict AoE Magic non-elemental damage to all enemies and decreases their Magic Defense, making this weapon great for wave clearing.
Platinum Collar
	Deals Physical non-elemental damage to a single target with a chance to inflict a critical hit. Additionally, decreases the Magic Attack of the target.	Increases Physical Defense.	Increases Fire Resistance.	Has a powerful single-target non-elemental damage ability and is able to decrease enemy Magic Attack damage.
Junk Collar

Matt Winsord

Matt Winsord is one of the new faces introduced in Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis and has one of the highest Physical damage potentials in the game.

	Deals Physical non-elemental damage to a single enemy with a chance to inflict a critical hit.	Increases Physical Attack.	Increases Critical Potency.	The weapon is able to inflict high single-target non-elemental damage with a huge Critical Potency and Lightning Ability Potency.
Killer Hornet
	Deals Magical non-elemental damage to a single target with a chance to inflict a critical hit. Additionally, decreases the Magic Defense of the target.	Increases Physical Attack.	Increases Wind Resistance.	Ability to deal major single-target Physical non-elemental damage that can also decrease the Magic Defense of the target.
Stingray
	Deals Magical non-elemental damage to a single target with a chance to inflict a critical hit. Additionally, decreases the Physical Attack of the target.	Increases HP.	Increases Critical Potency.	Similar to the aforementioned Stingray but decreases Physical Attack of enemy instead.
Slick Beetle

Glenn Lodbrock

Another new character that was introduced in Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis. Glenn Lodbrock is a Physical-focused damage dealer who has wave-clearing capabilities.

	Deals Magical Earth damage to all enemies.	Increases Magical Attack.	Increases Earth Ability Potency.	Strong elemental AoE option especially when there are not much Earth weapons available.
Jiggy Fam
	Deals Physical non-elemental damage to a single enemy with a chance to inflict a critical hit. Additionally, also decreases the target's defenses.	Increases Physical Defenses.	Increases Ice Resistances.	Similar to Barret's W Machine where its ability can be cast very often, keeping enemies' defenses reduced regularly.
Piece of Cake

Lucia Lin

Last but not least, Lucia Lin, the new sniper specialist who happens to be the only unit that can Silence enemies.

Serpent Eater
	Deals Physical non-elemental damage to a single target with a chance to inflict a critical hit. Additionally, decreases the Magic Attack of the target.	Increases HP.	When ATK Stance Gauge Max, increases Physical and Magical Ability Potency.	Strong single-target non-elemental damage and the ability to reduce the target's magic attack by quite a huge amount.
Mad Minute
	Deals Physical non-elemental damage to a single target with a chance to inflict critical hit. Additionally, the enemy hit will be Silenced.	Increases Physical Attack.	Increases Critical Potency.	The only weapon in the game that can Silence enemy while also have great non-elemental damage potential.
Black Rifle

At the moment, Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis only features PvE content, thus you don’t have to worry about rolling for the best weapon. Pick up a weapon you find fun and enjoy your journey in Midgar once again.
