If you’ve been staring at a map covered in mist and wondering how to uncover it, you’re not alone. Crimson Desert doesn’t spell it out for you right away, but there’s a straightforward system in place to fix that and it’s more useful than just revealing terrain.
Scattered across the world of Crimson Desert are Bell Towers, and ringing each one clears the fog in the surrounding area. On top of that, ringing a bell also marks nearby events and NPCs on your map, making it a great way to discover what’s happening around each region. Think of them less as a chore and more as a head start on exploring each area.
When you open your map and zoom in, look for a clock icon that’s how each bell tower is marked. You don’t need to be deep into the story to start hunting them down either. Seven of the eight towers are accessible in the early game, and all you really need is a horse to get around and reach them.
Here’s a rundown of all 8 towers in the game:

Most of these bell towers in Crimson Desert are easier to access the moment you have a horse and a bit of time to explore. The Demeniss and Varnia towers have a small extra step before you can ring them, but nothing complicated — just interact with the nearby flag or lever and the mechanism will kick in. The Pailune tower is the odd one out since it’s tied to story progression, but by the time you hit Chapter 7, the other seven should already be done.
