Publisher THQ Nordic has officially confirmed the release schedule for the Gothic Classic trilogy on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, bringing three influential role-playing games from Piranha Bytes to modern console platforms throughout 2026.
The trilogy includes Gothic Classic, Gothic II Complete Classic, and Gothic 3 Classic, each launching separately across the year. Physical editions are also planned for selected platforms, while players who pre-order Gothic Remake can access Gothic Classic immediately as a bonus.
Gothic Classic Launches First in July 2026

Kicking off the trilogy, Gothic Classic will launch on July 28, 2026 for USD $29.99 (approximately MYR 143) and €29.99 (approximately MYR 153) on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Players who pre-order Gothic Remake will receive Gothic Classic at no additional cost ahead of its standalone release. Physical editions are confirmed for PlayStation 5 and both Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
Originally released as a cult-favorite RPG, Gothic Classic takes players into the prison colony of Khorinis, where a magical barrier traps criminals inside a dangerous mining settlement controlled by rival factions. Players assume the role of the mysterious Nameless Hero, whose arrival begins to reshape the fragile balance of power within the colony.
The game features over 50 hours of gameplay, faction-based story progression, teacher-driven character development systems, and a simulated living world where NPCs follow daily routines.
Gothic II Complete Classic Arrives in September 2026

The second entry, Gothic II Complete Classic, launches on September 29, 2026 for USD $29.99 (approximately MYR 143) and €29.99 (approximately MYR 153) across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
This version includes both Gothic II and its expansion Night of the Raven, delivering a larger narrative continuation following the destruction of the magical barrier introduced in the original game.
Physical editions will be available on PlayStation 5 via disc and Xbox Series X|S via disc, although the Xbox version will require additional content downloads.
Players can expect more than 100 missions, interactions with over 500 NPCs, dynamic branching story paths, and access to over 200 weapons and spells. The game also includes more than 12 hours of English voice acting, helping bring the world of Khorinis to life on modern consoles.
Gothic 3 Classic Completes the Trilogy in November 2026

The final entry, Gothic 3 Classic, launches on November 24, 2026 for USD $29.99 (approximately MYR 143) and €29.99 (approximately MYR 153) on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
In addition to these platforms, Gothic 3 Classic will also release for Nintendo Switch 2, expanding access to players on next-generation portable hardware. Physical editions are planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version distributed via a game-key card format.
Set in the war-torn mainland of Myrtana, Gothic 3 Classic features a massive open world with minimal boundaries, class-free character progression systems, and large-scale faction conflicts involving orcs, rebels, and the Hashishin. The game also introduces over 50 monsters, dozens of enemy types, more than 100 weapons, and over 50 spells.
A Cult RPG Trilogy Returns to Modern Consoles

The arrival of the Gothic Classic trilogy on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One represents a significant moment for longtime fans of classic Western role-playing games. Known for their open-ended quest design, reactive worlds, and player-driven storytelling, the three titles helped shape the foundations of modern action RPG design.
With staggered releases across July, September, and November 2026, players will soon have the opportunity to revisit—or experience for the first time—the journey of the Nameless Hero across one of the genre’s most influential RPG trilogies on modern console platforms.
