After some setbacks due to a worldwide pandemic, Dark Horse has announced the new release date for the upcoming God of War comic.

Titled God of War: Fallen God, the comic will be out March 10th, 2021. Published by Dark Horse Comics, this story will bridge the gap between 2018’s God of War and God Of War 3, showing how the son of Zeus went from nearly ending the world to having a wife and son.

The God of War comic will be written by Chris Roberson, who’d previously worked on Fables, the comic that would later be adapted into The Wolf Among Us. It will also feature art by Tony Parker, who also did art for the God of War Exclusive Digital Comic bundled with the game’s 2018 release.

It also features lettering by John Roshell, whose industry experience has allowed him to even design fonts and teach the public about typesetting. Tony Parker’s linework will also be colored by colorist Dan Jackson, whose also done colors for the Dark Horse-published Star Wars comics.

Issue #1 of Fallen God features cover art by Dave Rapoza, who’d previously also designed two custom Spider-Man suits for Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

The comic was originally slated for a June 2020 release, however it had to be postponed following the Covid-19 pandemic.
