Ghost of Yōtei Legends Gets March Release Date

Sucker Punch Productions announced during February’s State of Play that Ghost of Yōtei Legends, the game’s online co-op multiplayer mode, will launch on March 10 as part of the free patch 1.5 update for all Ghost of Yōtei owners. Players in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand will receive the update on March 11.

Legends lets players team up with friends to fight supernatural versions of the Yōtei Six in co-op missions. The mode will launch with three different mission types.

Survival mode supports up to four players fighting waves of enemies across four different maps. Teams must control territory to activate Blessings that give combat advantages, but losing control triggers Curses that make battles harder. Each map features unique Curses and Blessings. Story mode pairs two players together for 12 missions. After completing each set of three missions, players unlock an Incursion – a four-player assault on a stronghold belonging to one of the Yōtei Six. These Incursions end with boss fights against giant supernatural versions of the Spider, Oni, Kitsune, or Snake.

A Raid mode will arrive in April, challenging teams to face the Dragon and Lord Saito.

Players can choose from four classes, each with different strengths:

• Samurai can wield the ōdachi and has access to the most weapon types
• Archer uses the yari (spear) and can carry an extra ranged weapon
• Mercenary fights with dual katana and utility-focused abilities
• Shinobi uses the kusarigama and specializes in stealth skills

All classes can use a katana and ranged weapon. Each class earns unique armor cosmetics by completing in-game challenges. Players can earn Legendary weapons and gear through higher difficulty challenges. Photo Mode returns for capturing team moments. The new Legends lobby includes combat and archery practice, the Zeni Hajiki game, and Bamboo Strike where players can compete for high scores.
