miHoYo and Cadillac have teamed up with a one-of-a-kind series of Genshin Impact Itasha, cars decorated with art of some of the game’s most popular characters.
These specially designed Cadillac CT4s will be viewable at the Guangzhou International Auto Show, with four cars based around the following Genshin Impact characters:
You’ll be able to view the cars at the auto show, where you’ll also be allowed to take photos with them when the show runs from November 19th to November 28th at the Canton Fair Complex.
Cadillac also announced a social media giveaway on their Weibo, where you’ll be able to win free Character stands of the participating characters by telling them which Itasha is your favorite.
Itasha literally means pain car, used to describe cars decorated with the image of fictional characters, most commonly anime characters. While their names may sound derogatory they’re a loved part of the anime subculture, with many decorated cars and bikes being seen at events.
It even bleeds into videogames, with the community adding itasha livery to various sim racing games so they can represent their favorite characters on the virtual racetrack when they can neither drive professionally nor afford an expensive car.
