HoYoverse has revealed the next chapter of Genshin Impact. Version Luna I: Song of the Welkin Moon: Segue will launch on September 10, bringing the long-awaited region of Nod-Krai, new storylines, and powerful companions. This update marks the beginning of the yearlong Song of the Welkin Moon series and invites players to explore the moon’s secrets while facing fresh challenges across Teyvat.
A New Region and Archon Quests
As the journey in Natlan concludes, players will set sail north toward Nod-Krai. The region consists of three island territories filled with new allies, mysteries, and dangers. The Archon Quests place Travelers alongside Lauma of the Frostmoon Scions to battle the Fatui, while Flins joins the fight against the relentless Wild Hunt. Meanwhile, Sandrone — the Fatui Harbinger also known as the Marionette — emerges with a plot to seize the moon’s ancient power.

Travelers will also encounter Columbina, once known as the Damselette, who has returned to her homeland of Nod-Krai where she is honored as the Moon Maiden. Meeting her may grant powerful blessings for the journey ahead. Nod-Krai becomes accessible to players who have completed Mondstadt’s main story and reached Adventure Rank 28. Those who have cleared Liyue’s storyline may continue straight into the new Archon Quests.
Harnessing the Power of the Moon
The land of Nod-Krai is infused with Kuuvahki, an ancient elemental force that shapes its terrain and inhabitants. Players can channel this energy during exploration by activating plants, mechanisms, and even the land itself. Kuuvahki also allows them to transform into Kuuhenki, a unique elemental lifeform capable of gliding swiftly across mist and Moonlanes.

In battle, Kuuvahki manifests in both foes and allies, requiring players to adopt tailored strategies. Certain characters can also unleash new Lunar Reactions, opening the door to dynamic and powerful combat mechanics.
New Playable Characters
Version Luna I expands the roster with three unique companions from Nod-Krai, each offering distinct abilities and playstyles.

Lauma, a 5-star Dendro Catalyst user, introduces the Lunar-Bloom reaction. With her powers, she generates Verdant Dew to boost Bloom-related damage. Beyond combat, she can transform into a half-human, half-deer form, granting her impressive agility for sprinting and leaping during exploration.
Flins, a 5-star Electro Polearm wielder, brings devastating Lunar-Charged strikes to the battlefield. As a seasoned Lightkeeper, he can unleash either a concentrated single blow or a storm of spear attacks. His unique ability to hear the whispers of the Wild Hunt also enhances his role during exploration, adding both power and narrative depth.
Aino, a 4-star Hydro Claymore user, introduces a touch of creativity with her mechanical inventions. Her workshop produces playful devices, including the duck-shaped combat creation Knuckle Duckle. Players will also be able to recruit Aino for free by progressing through the new Archon Quests, making her a valuable addition to any party.
Meeting Points and Wishes
The new Meeting Points feature lets Travelers step into the daily lives of companions. Players can relive the legends of the Frostmoon Scions with Lauma, visit Aino’s bustling Clink-Clank Krumkake Craftshop, or uncover the Lightkeepers’ stories at Flins’s home.

The Event Wishes for Version Luna I will feature Lauma alongside Nahida’s rerun in the first half, while the second half brings Flins, Aino, and Yelan’s rerun.
Rewards and Optimizations
Version Luna I introduces generous rewards and system upgrades. To celebrate both the update and Genshin Impact’s 5th Anniversary, players can claim a free 5-star character of their choice from the Standard Wish pool, 1,600 Primogems via in-game mail, 10 Intertwined Fates from a login event, and two Nod-Krai–themed gadgets.

Other improvements include expanded Adventure EXP sources, additional Battle Pass materials, and a revamped Artifact system where players can preview locked affixes. Extra 5-star Stella Fortuna can now be converted to raise characters all the way to Level 100. Expanded party slots also make team management more flexible than ever.
Starting September 10, players can embark on their Nod-Krai adventure across PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Android, and iOS with full cross-progression and Co-Op support. The game is rated T for Teen on PlayStation 5, Xbox, PC, and Google Play, and 12+ on iOS.
