Like with basically every single industry that is growing in this pandemic age, digital versions of products are overtaking or have overtaken their physical versions—not just video games. However, the digital takeover came rather recently for video games, with the Covid-19 pandemic giving digital sales the push they need to overtake physical sales.

Sure, being able to download games on your bed without going to the store is great, so is not having to worry about shelf space. Still, there is something special about owning a physical copy of a game, which creates its own ecosystem of collectors and retro game enthusiasts.
