FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki Happy for the Call for Bloodborne Remake 

Hidetaka Miyazaki, president of FromSoftware and the director for the game itself, said he is “very happy” about fans calling for a Bloodborne remake.

In a recent interview with Eurogamer that coincided with the release date reveal of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree expansion DLC, Miyazaki was asked about a potential Bloodborne remake which he responded “It is a title we hold very dear and just as much as our fans.”

“It does make me very happy to see that there are still so many people passionate about it.”

If you are a fan of Soulslike, you may have come across fans long calling for a re-release of Bloodborne in some form on social media.

Bloodborne was originally released exclusively for the PlayStation 4 in 2015 and was a critically acclaimed RPG that was considered highly influential in the genre by many.

While Miyazaki did not mention Bloodborne will be getting any re-release directly, he talked about new hardware and how it gives remake value.

“Things you weren’t able to achieve on previous generations of hardware, ways you weren’t able to render specific expressions – [new hardware] sometimes makes it possible.”

Demon’s Souls, which was also directed by Miyazaki, had a two-console generation jump and was remade as a PlayStation launch title after its original release on the PlayStation 3.

The director went on to note how happy he was to see so many passionate fans wanting a Bloodborne remake, saying “Put simply, it makes me very happy to see it’s a title with a lot of specific memories, both for me and the staff who worked on it.”

“And when we see those passionate voices in the community, of course it makes us feel thrilled, it makes us feel very fortunate to have that and to have those memories.”
