When talking about farming simulators, Harvest Moon is always the first game that came to our mind. We had Magnus Games’ Re:Legend that allows players to grow crops and hunt monsters recently, now here is another farming simulator on Kickstarter titled Farm Folks which is looking similar to Harvest Moon too!
Farm Folks‘ story is all about you, the protagonist who left your homeland aboard a sterling, seafaring vessel to the open sea with one goal: to find your true purpose in life. However, a vicious storm destroyed the vessel and you are washed ashore on the beaches of Softshoal Island. The accident offers you a chance at a new start, where you were given a plot of land and be able to experience the everlasting magnificence of your new home.
Similar to Harvest Moon, you can clear up the land to plant crops and water them daily until each crop has reached its maturation and it’s ready for harvest. You will then be able to sell your goods in the town and further enhance your farm with the profits you earned.
Of course, you can raise different animals such as chicken, cow and even a colourful unicorn. Your animal companions will rewards you with high-quality products (eggs, milk, wool and more) if you keep them happy with brushes and special feed!
You can also explore the wonderful and diverse settings of Softshoal for rare resources. For example, you can mine the extensive caves for minerals and materials to upgrade your tools. or fish some sea life from the various rivers, lakes and coastlines.
Moreover, Farm Folks is featuring a diverse cast of over 30 characters where you can interact with, as well as develop relationships with them. You can purpose marriage to the character you like and form a family too!
Farm Folks is like another HD version of Harvest Moon with new features alongside the features that we are already familiar with, and I am glad to know that we will be able to enjoy it on our PCs (the only confirmed platform for now) in 2019.
