Just today, Ubisoft has announced that the Far Cry 5 free Next-Gen 60 FPS update is available for download on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 via a patch.
Ubisoft released a trailer alongside the announcement to highlight and showcase how the 60 FPS boost smoothens out the animation and giving players a different feel to the game.
The free Next-Gen 60 FPS update will also apply the 60 FPS boost to all Far Cry 5 modes which include: the solo campaign, co-op, Arcade and all downloadable content.
The patch will also provide a native enhanced resolution on Xbox Series X|S, whereby Series S users can play in 1920 x 1080 and Series X users may enjoy it in 3840 x 2160/4K resolution.
On Playstation 5, the game will still remain at a dynamic resolution around 2880 x 1620.
On top of that, as part of Far Cry 5 5th anniversary celebration, a free weekend was also announced for the game from March 23 to 27th on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, as well as Windows PC through the Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games Store.
Progress made during the free weekend will carry over should the game be purchased on the same platform. Further information can be found regarding the matter at their official site.
