Following tremendous success in Asian markets, Kakao Games has officially launched its free-to-play MMORPG Odin: Valhalla Rising on PC and mobile platforms worldwide. The Norse mythology-inspired game, which previously dominated the Korean Google Play Store charts for 17 weeks after its 2021 release, is now available to players across the globe.

Developed by Lionheart Studios and published by Kakao Games, Odin: Valhalla Rising offers players an immersive journey through a seamless open world rooted in Nordic legend. Players can explore regions such as Midgard and Jotunheim while choosing from four distinct character classes: Warrior, Sorceress, Priest, and Rogue.

The game distinguishes itself with best-in-class graphics and ambitious large-scale battles rarely seen in mobile MMORPGs. Players can participate in massive 30v30 Battle of Valhalla modes, cooperative battles, challenging group dungeons, and boss raids. According to the developers, future updates will introduce additional content including guild wars.

One of Odin: Valhalla Rising’s standout features is its truly seamless open-world design. The game allows for uninterrupted exploration without loading screens outside of instanced dungeons, whether playing on mobile or PC. This technical achievement enhances immersion and allows players to fully experience the vastness of the Norse-inspired landscapes.

“We put a lot of effort into bringing the experience gained from launching in Korea three years ago into the global version,” said Si-woo Lee, CBO at Kakao Games. “Thanks to this, as well as the multiple tests we ran during development, we believe the global version of Odin: Valhalla Rising will offer an even smoother and more flexible gameplay experience.”

The global version incorporates significant enhancements, including improved character and environment assets, comprehensive bug fixes, and a refined user interface. The game features uninterrupted exploration without loading screens outside of instanced dungeons, maintaining this seamless experience across both mobile and PC platforms with full crossplay support.

Nam-ho Kim, Creative Director at Lionheart Studio, emphasized the social aspects of the game: “We want players to enjoy the thrill of cooperation as they work together and the competition as they continue to grow their characters, diving deeper into Odin: Valhalla Rising’s extensive content through hunting, collecting, and crafting.”

The game offers extensive character progression systems that encourage players to engage with a variety of activities. From hunting monsters to gathering resources and crafting equipment, there are numerous ways for players to advance their characters and prepare for the game’s challenging endgame content.

The team at Lionheart Studio has approached the design of avatars, weapon skins, and mounts with a distinctive style that sets the game apart from other titles in the genre. This unique aesthetic contributes to the game’s identity and creates a visually striking experience for players.

Content creators have shown significant interest in the game’s global launch, with over 1,000 influencers already signed up for the newly established Partner Creator Program, which supports content creation across platforms like YouTube and Twitch.

To celebrate the worldwide release, Kakao Games is running a special in-game event until May 29, rewarding players with various items based on their level rankings, including Legendary Mount Summoning Tickets. Additional community events are planned through official channels including Facebook and Discord.

Odin: Valhalla Rising is now available for free download on PC and mobile devices with language support for English, Spanish, Thai, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), and Japanese.
