Elden Ring players are finding themselves locked out of the game, after being kicked out for what the game describes as Inappropriate Activity.

Originally believed to just be a result of the servers being overloaded due to the game’s popularity, many are theorizing that Elden Ring is banning players after flagging them down for inappropriate activity.
GameRant reports that these players are being denied entry into the game’s online mode after being kicked, stemming a lot of frustration from the community who say they haven’t done anything that should trigger a ban
“So Elden Ring just told me inappropriate activity was detected while I out exploring, and kicked me off the server. No clue what it detected but I can’t login anymore”, tweets a player named Duncan.
“the only ‘sketchy’ thing I’ve done is back up my save data manually, which the fucking official twitter told us to do because it doesn’t always sync with the steam cloud properly”
It looks like this might be a case of false positives from the Elden Ring anti-cheat software- we know From Software had beefed up its security, following the discovery of a dangerous exploit present in both Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring.
From Software has yet to comment on the issue, though we can expect some kind of statement soon if the issue becomes widespread enough.
