Duet Night Abyss Launches on Steam December 23 with ‘Huaxu: The Wind Awakening’ Update

Publisher Hero Games and developer Pan Studio have announced that Duet Night Abyss will officially launch on Steam on December 23, arriving alongside the game’s major content update, “Huaxu: The Wind Awakening.” The free-to-play RPG previously launched on October 28 for mobile devices and PC via its standalone launcher and the Epic Games Store.

Following its appearance at The Game Awards, Pan Studio confirmed that the Huaxu update will release globally on the same day as the Steam launch. As a result, the game’s availability will expand further across PC, iOS, and Android platforms.

Six New Characters and Expanded Co-Op Play

The update introduces six new playable characters, significantly expanding the roster. Among them is Kezhou, a disciplined swordsman, and Fushu, a healer from the Hall of Ephemerality. Fushu wields a traditional folding fan to provide recovery magic and team-wide buffs, offering strong support options in combat.

Players can unlock Fushu through the Immersive Theatre gameplay event. Additionally, the event rewards her exclusive “Tidal Repose” outfit, giving players both gameplay and cosmetic incentives to participate.

Meanwhile, co-op multiplayer will fully unlock across all regions. Players can now explore the open world together, challenge Nocturnal Echoes bosses, and complete commissions as a team. Furthermore, a new competitive ranking mode, The Phoxhunter Summit, will debut, adding structured challenges and rewards for high-performing players.

Huaxu Region Brings Major Visual Overhaul

Beyond gameplay, the Huaxu update delivers a noticeable artistic shift. The new Huaxu region transitions the game’s visual identity from Western fantasy to a more realistic Eastern-inspired aesthetic. Improved lighting, refined textures, and more detailed environments aim to create a richer and more immersive experience.

To celebrate the launch, players can claim a free Serenity Character Skin Selection – Dark Jade box and earn 10 Prismatic Hourglasses through a seven-day login event. In addition, the following redeemable codes will grant bonus rewards until December 24:
