Publisher DreadXP and developer Lovely Hellplace have announced that Dread Delusion will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One this spring. The retro-styled open-world RPG expands beyond PC following a successful Early Access period and full release on Steam.
Dread Delusion first entered Early Access on PC via Steam in June 2022 before reaching its full version in May 2024. The upcoming console release marks the next major step for the project, bringing its distinct aesthetic and classic RPG design to a wider audience.
Inspired by Classic Open-World RPGs

Drawing inspiration from 1990s and early 2000s role-playing games such as King’s Field and The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Dread Delusion blends old-school sensibilities with modern refinements. The game presents a striking retro 3D visual style that evokes nostalgia while maintaining a clear identity of its own.
Players explore a vast and surreal open world filled with floating islands, ancient ruins, and strange civilizations. The design encourages curiosity and rewards exploration, offering numerous locations to uncover and stories to piece together through environmental storytelling and character interaction.
Player Choice Shapes the Journey

At its core, Dread Delusion emphasizes player freedom. Character progression allows players to tailor their abilities to suit different playstyles, whether they prefer direct combat, magical experimentation, or social manipulation. The game supports multiple solutions to most challenges, ensuring that combat is never the only option.
Players can influence the world through their decisions, with branching questlines and multiple endings reflecting the choices they make. Dialogue options, charm, lockpicking, and forbidden knowledge all play a role in shaping how the story unfolds. A sharp mind or clever words can often prove as effective as a sword or spell.
Console Versions Include Full Feature Set

The console versions of Dread Delusion will include all content updates introduced during the PC Early Access period. These additions include Hard Mode, airship customization options, and the Creature Island content expansion. Players on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch 2 will receive the complete experience at launch.
A new console announcement trailer has also been released, offering a closer look at the game’s atmosphere, exploration, and combat systems.
With its blend of classic RPG design, modern accessibility, and strong emphasis on player choice, Dread Delusion aims to appeal to fans of old-school role-playing games when it arrives on consoles this spring.
