A brand new Dragon Ball game project was recently announced, and it’s going by the name Age 1000. Shortly after the announcement, a YouTube playlist created by Bandai Namco Southeast Asia appeared to link Age 1000 directly to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3.
However, that playlist has since been removed and no longer exists at the time of writing. Bandai Namco has not made any official statement confirming or denying the connection between Age 1000 and the Xenoverse series. The game is set for a 2027 release, and the reveal has already stirred up a lot of excitement across the Dragon Ball community.

One of the bigger highlights is that Age 1000 will feature original characters created by the late Akira Toriyama himself with designs that have never been seen before. Additional characters beyond those originals have also been confirmed, though specifics haven’t been shared yet. The developers have also said that the game will pack in more elements and settings than any Dragon Ball game that has come before it, which is a pretty bold claim given how many titles the franchise has put out over the years.
What makes this one particularly notable is that it has been in development for six to seven years, and that development period included direct involvement from Toriyama himself before his passing in March 2024.
That said, the “Age” naming does have a history within the Xenoverse series. The original Dragon Ball Xenoverse, released in 2015 and developed by Dimps, was set around Age 850 within its Time Patrol storyline. Its sequel, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, launched in 2016 and has since received years of ongoing DLC and updates, making it one of the longest-supported Dragon Ball games to date. Both titles centered around a custom player character working alongside the Time Patrol, a concept that was fairly new to Dragon Ball games at the time.
If Age 1000 does turn out to be Xenoverse 3, the jump from Age 850 to Age 1000 within that same in-universe timeline would represent a significant leap forward in the story’s setting, which lines up with the claim that the game will feature never-before-seen original characters and an expanded world.
