The official website for Digimon Survive has been updated with more story details, as well as introductions to recently revealed characters, Ryou Tominaga and Kunemon. Get the details below, courtesy from Gematsu:-
Takuma and friends visit a shrine related to the “Beast Gods” legend. The fog-covered shrine had an otherwordly, suspicious air floating about it. They separate to explore the shrine, and a suspicious monster emerges from the bushes, to approach Takuma.
Calling himself Koromon, he tells Takuma that he feels like he already knows him. Takuma has no time to be perplexed by Koromon, when he hears a scream from his friends. At the scene, he finds his friends attacked by monsters unlike Koromon, and the fog is also surrounding the boys desperately trying to escape…
With Agumon’s power, who evolved from Koromon, manages to repel the monsters that attacked him. He reunites with Minoru and Aoi and return to the school building where their camp is located. The appearance of the school building surprises them, as it looks to be covered in vegetation and deteriorated over time. Could this really be the school they were staying at? Did they slip through time, or are they lost in another world?
They hear Ryou’s scream coming from the school building. A new crisis has now swooped down on the children!
Ryou Tominaga (voiced by Yohei Azakami)
A third-year student from a different junior highschool, also a participant of the extracurricular activities camp. He can’t accept the reality of being stuck in another world, and is also afraid of and disgusted by Kunemon. He tries to make himself look better to hide his anxiety, but the more he does this, the more his cowardice shows.
Kunemon (voiced by Ryouhei Arai)
A larva-type monster with lightning shapes on its body. While it cannot speak human language, it can understand what Ryou and friends are saying.

Search for a Way to Survive
Digimon Survive progresses through “Drama Parts” through text adventure, and “Battle Parts”, with friendly monsters fighting against enemies like pawns on a chess board.
Drama Parts have “Free Actions” where you choose where to go and who to talk to, and “Search Actions”, where you search for a means to survive in a critical situation. Freely visit the areas on the map during Search Actions. Talk to friends and obtain information in each area. Uncover hints and items by investigating suspicious places, and the story will progress.
Digimon Survive will be coming out for Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC worldwide in 2020. Japan will only receive Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions.
