Blizzard Entertainment has announced a limited-time crossover event for Diablo Immortal, bringing the brutal world of DOOM: The Dark Ages into Sanctuary. Titled “Slayers Reign,” the event runs from April 16 to May 13, 2026, and introduces new gameplay content, themed cosmetics, and a full event rework inspired by the iconic DOOM Slayer arsenal.
The crossover transforms Diablo Immortal’s world with DOOM-inspired brutality, including new abilities, enemies, and a reimagined event mode that emphasizes fast-paced combat and aggressive playstyles.
A Hellish Invasion Comes to Sanctuary
The story begins with a full-scale Hell invasion. Forces from DOOM enter Sanctuary and reshape the battlefield. Therefore, players face enemies from both universes at once. The event reworks the Survivor’s Bane mode into Slayer’s Bane. This new version focuses on fast, aggressive combat. Moreover, it introduces Slayer-inspired abilities built around iconic DOOM weapons.
Players gain access to six unique skills. These include abilities based on the Shield Saw, Dreadmace, and Super Shotgun. In addition, these skills reward constant movement and pressure. However, enemies also become more dangerous. Imps appear across the battlefield as regular threats. Meanwhile, the Cyberdemon arrives as the main boss encounter.
The Cyberdemon serves one purpose. It exists to stop the Slayer’s advance. Therefore, players must use every new ability to defeat it.
The Crucible Legendary Gem Adds New Combat Power
A new 2-Star Legendary Gem, The Crucible, debuts as part of the crossover. This gem introduces a “Slaughter” mechanic that deals increasing damage to enemies below a certain health threshold.
When enemies are defeated shortly after being Slaughtered, players gain Slayer’s Rage, which boosts both damage and movement speed. This effect can stack, and killing players instantly grants maximum stacks, reinforcing an aggressive combat loop focused on momentum and execution.
Limited-Time Cosmetics and Slayer-Themed Rewards
The crossover also introduces a wide range of DOOM: The Dark Ages-inspired cosmetics. Players can unlock the Sentinel Forged Armory, a collection of weapon skins themed around the Night Sentinels and Argent D’Nur. These cosmetics are available as free event rewards during the crossover period.
In addition, the Phantom Market features the Ruthless Hellwalker set, allowing players to equip the iconic Praetor Armor of the DOOM Slayer. Thematically, the armor reflects an unyielding, aggressive presence designed to overwhelm enemies without retreat.
Players can also earn Slayer-themed companions, including a Serrat mount and a floating Cacodemon familiar. Both can be transformed into low-altitude flying companions, adding a visual DOOM-inspired twist to traversal.
Event Rewards and Limited-Time Progression
Throughout the Slayers Reign event, players can earn a variety of rewards simply by participating in gameplay. These include The Crucible Legendary Gem, Legendary Crests, Set Gear, event-exclusive weapon cosmetics, and additional in-game resources.
Blizzard Entertainment emphasizes that the event is designed to reward consistent play while encouraging experimentation with the new Slayer-inspired mechanics.
