Kojima Productions has detailed a major update for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, spotlighting new gameplay modes, PC-specific performance enhancements, and cross-platform content arriving on PlayStation 5. The announcement coincides with the release of the latest trailer, “No Rain, No Rainbow,” offering Porters a first look at additions that expand both the challenge and customization options in the critically acclaimed sequel.
“To the Wilder” Mode Tests Your Skills to the Limit

A headline feature for the update is the “to the wilder” mode, designed for players seeking the ultimate Death Stranding 2: On The Beach experience. This punishing mode challenges Porters in environments teeming with deadly enemies, requiring careful strategy and ingenuity to complete deliveries successfully. Rewards include the satisfaction of finishing high-stakes missions and recognition from other Porters in the game world.

Players can also explore the new VR training area, “Trapped in a Strange Realm,” where Sam revisits key confrontations with Neil, unlocking unique fieldware such as new bandanas. Cosmetic updates extend to the Chiral Feline, which now appears in the private room aboard the DHV Magellan, along with fresh additions to Photo Mode for more creative options.
PC-Exclusive Visual Upgrades

The PC edition introduces enhancements tailored for high-end systems. Features include full support for Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS, uncapped frame rates, super-ultrawide monitor support, and full mouse-and-keyboard customization. High-end PCs can also enable ray-traced reflections and ambient occlusion, enhancing water surfaces, lighting, and shadows for a more immersive world.
DualSense controller support on PC adds haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and Spatial Sound, while ultrawide support for in-game cutscenes is shared with the PlayStation 5 edition to ensure a consistent experience across platforms.
Editions, Pre-Orders, and PlayStation Bonuses

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is available in Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes early unlocks such as Machine Gun [MP], Gold Skeletons, and patches including Quokka and Chiral Cat.

Pre-orders for the PC version within 48 hours unlock Silver Skeletons and a custom Quokka hologram. Porters who connect their account also receive PlayStation-inspired backpack patches, and PlayStation 5 players gain exclusive Connection Bonuses on PC launch day.
Expanding the Death Stranding Universe

These updates offer Porters new ways to challenge themselves and personalize their experience in Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. With technical improvements, fresh modes, and cross-platform content, Kojima Productions ensures that the game continues to push boundaries and engage players on both PC and PlayStation 5.
