Cyberpunk 2077’s Big 2.3 Update Rolls Out Today: Auto-Drive, New Quests & Vehicles

CD Projekt RED has announced that the Cyberpunk 2077 Version 2.3 update is set to launch on July 17, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, alongside the release of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition for Apple silicon Mac devices. The update will arrive later on Nintendo Switch 2.

Developed in collaboration with Virtuos, this free update adds several new features to further enhance the player experience in Night City, including AutoDrive functionality, new vehicles and quests, Photo Mode upgrades, and tech improvements for next-gen hardware.

Drive or Ride Hands-Free in Night City

The headline addition in Version 2.3 is the introduction of AutoDrive, allowing players to mark a destination on the map and let their owned vehicle take the wheel. Alternatively, they can call in a Delamain taxi, pick a destination, and enjoy the ride for a small in-game fee. Both options offer a cinematic camera experience, letting players appreciate the city from new angles while en route.

New Vehicles and Quests to Unlock

Update 2.3 also introduces four new vehicles, including a motorcycle and three cars. One of the new rides is the Yaiba Semimaru, featured in the Cyberpunk 2077: Kickdown comic. These vehicles can be obtained by completing associated quests scattered across the city.

Enhanced Photo Mode Customization

Photography fans will find expanded tools in Photo Mode, which now lets players adjust weather, time of day, and customize how NPCs pose and look at the camera. The update adds more stickers, frames, and deeper control over head, eye, and shoulder positioning, making it easier to capture the perfect shot.

Performance Boosts and Tech Enhancements

Version 2.3 also brings new technical features, including:

• VRR support for supported consoles

• AMD FSR 4 and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation

• Intel XeSS 2.0

• Improved HDR settings

These upgrades aim to further polish the game’s performance across platforms.

Release Details

Cyberpunk 2077 Version 2.3 launches July 17 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and is bundled with the Ultimate Edition on Mac (Apple silicon, 16GB RAM minimum). The update will be made available on Nintendo Switch 2 at a later date.

Please note that Update 2.3 will not be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
