According to an article by DEADLINE, CBS Studios and Propagate Content have partnered with Masi Oka, who is not only an actor starred in Heroes and Hawaii Five-0, but is also a major manga fan aiming to develop a live-action television adaptation of the dark fantasy manga Claymore in collaboration with Japanese publishing giant Shueisha.
Oka will serve as an executive producer alongside Propagate Content and the Shueisha team. They are currently searching for a writer that will bring the adaptation to life.

Created by Norihiro Yagi, Claymore is set in a dark medieval world where humanity is hunted by shape-shifting creatures known as Yoma. To combat this threat, an elite group of female warriors, known as Claymores, fight to protect humankind. They are titular characters to the series named after the very weapon they wield, humans refer to these women as silver-eyed witches/slayers.
The upcoming series aims to stay true to the intense action and thought-provoking moral conflicts of both the original manga and its anime adaptation, which has been available to U.S. audiences on Crunchyroll.

As a longtime manga collector, Oka had previously co-produced Netflix’s 2017 live-action adaptation of Death Note. He and Propagate Content have then established ties with CBS Studios while Oka was a regular on CBS’s Hawaii Five-0 and Propagate had maintained a collaborative relationship with the studio, including a first-look deal.
The project aims to follow a growing trend of successful live-action manga adaptations directly inspired by the positivity around Netflix’s One Piece.
