Bilibili just revealed via X that they’ve launched the international version of their app globally on Android, with an iOS version coming soon. The new version also drops the identity verification step, which was one of the steps required from overseas users on the original Chinese app.
The company initially revealed on X: ‘Yes bilibili is going global so follow for more updates.’ After a couple of hours, they posted that the international app is live with ‘globally distributed content, better localization & easier sign-ups with no identity verification…and more localization optimization and features to come!’

Bilibili has since garnered over 13,000 followers on X after creating its new international account. Furthermore, the platform has created a Discord, where creators can provide feedback about the new application.
The Discord hub, which has already amassed over a thousand members, also has a tutorial on how to post videos on the platform and promises that an English version will be released soon.
Bilibili also gave a pitch via Discord on why it’s a great platform for influencers to both make money and connect with its users. The company described its existing users as ‘Gen Z Coded, affluent, and well-educated.’

The company also revealed its future plans to introduce an international marketplace where users can connect with brands to create sponsored content.
Bilibili is a Chinese video-sharing platform similar to YouTube, best known for its strong anime, gaming, and youth-oriented communities, as well as its distinctive on-screen “danmaku”, where users’ comments appear over the video.
With its planned global expansion, bilibili could position itself as a serious alternative to established video platforms like YouTube if it can successfully build a community.
