Nihon Falcom just dropped the demo for Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter today, August 20, a month before the much-anticipated sequel’s launch on September 17 for PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 1 & 2.
For now, players can sink their teeth into the JRPG’s prologue entitled ‘A Maiden’s Resolve,’ and its first chapter, ‘Sneaking Shadows.’ Players can also save their progress on the demo, which can be carried over to the full game upon launch.

The 2nd Chapter immediately picks up after the first game after its massive cliffhanger. Here, Estelle embarks on her journey to the Liberl Kingdom to find Joshua, who disappeared at the end of the First Chapter.
Estelle also continues her work with the Bracer Guild as she tries to uncover a mysterious organization called Ouroboros. Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter also expands on the political intrigue, character stories, and mysteries established in the first game.
A promotional trailer was also released earlier this August, which gave a glimpse of Estelle and Joshua’s complicated bond and the latter’s troubled past. It also showed the mysterious Ouroboros and fan-favourite party members like Agate and Olivier in action.
With the demo now available, fans can get an early look at how this sequel continues from the first game’s narrative while revisiting the characters and mysteries that made it so memorable. Plus, the ability to carry demo progress into the full release also gives returning players a head start before Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter launches on September 17.
