Brie Larson Joins the Cast of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Nintendo Reveals First Trailer

Nintendo has released the first full trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, giving fans an early look at the sequel’s intergalactic adventure. The film will hit theaters on April 3, 2026, in the United States and on April 24, 2026, in Japan. As in the Super Mario Galaxy games, Mario and his friends will travel through space while facing new challenges and encountering familiar characters along the way.

New characters confirmed for the second movie

The sequel introduces Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Brie Larson will voice Rosalina. She is best known for playing Captain Marvel and winning an Academy Award for Room. Meanwhile, Benny Safdie will voice Bowser Jr., who acts as a villain while Bowser remains trapped at Peach’s Castle. These new characters add fresh dynamics, and at the same time, they stay true to Nintendo’s iconic universe.

Creative team returns

Directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic return for the sequel, alongside screenwriter Matthew Fogel and composer Brian Tyler.
