Brawlstar Legends is a game developed by Gazia Games. Gazia Games, a new company from Singapore has designed the 2 vs 2 MOBA game for the mobile platform as the genre is currently popular in the mobile gaming world. With games like Mobile Legends and Arena of Valor, Brawlstar Legends instead took the route of a 2 vs 2 MOBA.

The objective of the MOBA genre is simple; you defeat heroes and move up with your automated creeps and deal damage to the towers and base until it is destroyed. However Gazia Games has used a map design that is very familiar to many of us. The map design is as simple and similar to Clash Royale with creeps walking down two sides of lanes. Players of course will be tasked to be responsible for the lanes they take care of but the lanes are pretty much open to be intruded by your ally.

Matches are short and players need to deal as much damage as they can within 3 minutes. With a choice of 9 Heroes to choose from, there are also 8 different Spells that can be unlocked throughout the gameplay. Unlike any other MOBA games, Brawlstar Legends however does not require any “farming” of gold to buy and equip any weapons. Players just need to survive and attain levels and proceed with the objective of the game.

Interestingly, the game’s reward system is similar to Clash Royale’s chest system. There are Shard Packs to be opened with the use of orbs which players collect the shards to attain a certain Hero. Level the Heroes up and you will get a stronger Hero with increased stats. This also means that players who pay to gain orbs will attain more hero shards for upgrades which then in turn give them an upperhand in matches even when they are lower leveled. This looks like a “pay-to-win” kind of game I’d presume.

Hopefully the game developers see this as an issue and will tweak it to become more match balanced as it is just unfair for low leveled players to have a strong Hero in the beginning of the game just by spending money in it. Overall, the game is pretty interesting to give it a try.
