Recently on Reddit, I came across this game called “Bound by Blades”. This game plays out quite uniquely in their 4 point positioned platform. The Reddit mentioned that this is a Monster Hunter inspired game but let’s see how this will turn out! I tried the game out and I will share my experience from playing the demo!

Gameplay

When you launch the demo and press start, you are brought into a character creation screen. From the demo, you can only choose one of the three characters. You will continue towards a skin selection menu then the actual game starts.

You will enter a basic training ground and proceed with the tutorial on attacking, defending and moving from platform to platform. After defeating the boss, you will be brought into the town and you are required to speak to the fish and another townsfolk. Within this demo, you get to do a few things such as crafting, upgrading equipment, gathering materials and fighting bosses.

At where I stopped playing, there are 2 modes other than training. Normal mode, where the initial 3 bosses are in an easier difficulty. Hard mode, where the previous bosses are brought up in difficulty with new attack patterns.

The balancing of the game still requires some work and it will be definitely worth it for the developers!

Controls

As of the current build, the controls are still very clunky for each action. It takes time to get used to the controls.

There are not much things to try out but the game looks like they are growing in a positive direction! I wish I could play more of the game! Here are some other screenshots of the game!
