505 Games and MercurySteam have officially launched the fantasy action-adventure title Blades of Fire worldwide for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Epic Games Store.
In Blades of Fire, players take on the role of Aran de Lira, the firstborn of the King’s Ward, who stands against the dark forces of Queen Nerea – a powerful ruler capable of turning steel into stone, making resistance seemingly hopeless. With a revolutionary combat and weapons system, players must forge and master a vast array of weapons in their quest to end her tyrannical reign.
Game Overview
In THE FORGE, players can find Forge Scrolls to improve their forging skills and craft weapons that fit their fighting style. The choice of weapon family and materials influences key features like weight, length, durability, penetration, and edge quality. Players can select from seven weapon families and over 30 unique Forge Scrolls, creating nearly limitless weapon combinations that are vital in combat.
The game features a tactical combat system where players can target specific enemy body parts, using different attack methods like slashing, stabbing, or bludgeoning based on the situation and the enemy’s gear. The right weapon is essential to defeat foes with armor.

Players are accompanied by Adso, a knowledgeable scholar and companion to the hero, Aran. Adso offers valuable insights and speaks the ancient language of divine forgers, key to uncovering mysteries.
Facing more than 50 types of enemies, including diverse attackers like the Queen’s guards and undead, each enemy presents unique challenges. The game also supports AMD Fidelity technology for enhanced frame rates and image quality, compatible with various GPUs.
Neil Ralley, President of 505 Games, described Blades of Fire as the result of years of passion, innovation, and storytelling from the team at MercurySteam. He expressed excitement for players to experience the game and begin forging their own legends.

Alongside the launch, a digital artbook and original soundtrack – featuring 20 tracks composed by award-winning composer Óscar Araujo – are also available for purchase on the Epic Games Store.
