The Busan Indie Connect Festival has announced the winners of the 2023 BIC Awards, celebrating the best indie games at the show.

The awards were split up into two divisions- the Rookie Division as well as the General Division, with different categories for each of them.

Seo Tae-geon, the Chairman of the BIC Organizing Committee, congratulated all the winners in a speech at the ceremony.

“This year marks the 9th anniversary, and since 2015 we’ve worked so hard for indie games and the indie games industry. I think part of the reason we’re able to stand here in 2023 is because of your passion and love, thank you so much”, he says.

“Because of your opinions and your attention, we were able to grow every single year. Next year marks our 10th anniversary, of course, and we will do our best to show you something new”, he continues.  “One thing that will never change is the industry spirit, and we will keep the industry spirit”.

2023 BIC Awards Rookie Division

Rather than have one winner, the Rookie Division is split up across multiple categories, such as Action, esports and Art, as well as a Rising Star category.

This year’s awards saw a runaway success in The Segment Twins, which won three categories including Excellence in Action, Art as well as the Rising Star category.

2023 BIC Awards General Division Winners

This year’s General Division saw a stacked race, with multiple highly-praised games such as A Space For The Unbound, Viewfinder and Dungeon Drafters.

A Space For The Unbound won three whole categories, and the Jury’s prize even went to two games this year- that being said, Dungeon Drafters took the win for the overall Grand Prix.
