With the release of the teaser, the company confirmed that the next season is currently in production, although no expected release date was revealed.
Based on the title and the teaser’s contents, season 3 of the Arknights anime will probably cover the events of the game from where season 2 left of and up to the end of Episode 8 in the game, which covers the origins of the Reunion movement, its leader Talulah and Chernobog’s current path towards collision with Lungmen.
The previous seasons of the Arknights anime was received positively by viewers, with the first season, ‘Prelude to Dawn’ receiving a 7.08 rating and the second season, ‘Perish in Frost’ achieving a 7.58 rating on MyAnimeList.
The anime adaptations are produced by Yostar Pictures and directed by Yuki Watanabe with Masaki Nishikawa serving as assistant director, and Yuki Hayashi as lead music composer.
Season 2 of the anime ended at the end of Episode 6 of the game, with Rhodes Island’s victory over Reunion leader FrostNova.
