Aniplex has unveiled Alterna Welt: Blue Exorcist Gaiden, a new 3D action RPG set in the world of Kazue Kato’s supernatural manga series, Blue Exorcist.

The announcement was made during the Jump Fest 2024 event and Alterna Welt: Blue Exorcist Gaiden is set to release for iOS, Android, and PC in the summer of 2024.

As of writing, the game was only announced for Japan with no details on whether it will be released worldwide yet.

With a Summer 2024 release, fans of the series can also now pre-register for the game through their official website.

The game will follow the narrative of the original series, players will embark on an adventure through True Cross Academy Town with both Rin Okumura and Yukio Okumura unveiled as playable characters.

For those unfamiliar, Blue Exorcist is a dark fantasy manga series by mangaka Kazue Kato and follows Rin Okumura, a teenager who discovers he and his twin brother Yukio are sons and inheritors of Satan’s powers.

The manga was adapted into an anime series produced by A-1 Pictures in 2011 with a movie released a year after.

Kyoto Saga, the second season aired in 2017 while the third season, subtitled Shimane Illuminati Saga, is set to premiere in January of next year with Studio VOLN now handling the production.
