Capcom has unveiled details for the highly anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds and Street Fighter 6 collaboration, set to launch on May 28, 2025, bringing the iconic fighting game into the monster-hunting universe.
The crossover event centers around Akuma, the legendary demon warrior from Street Fighter, who arrives in Monster Hunter Wilds through a dedicated side mission called Ultimate Strength. Players at Hunter Rank 21 or higher can access this content by speaking with Quinn, the Vespae Unit handler, at the Oilwell Basin Base Camp.

The collaboration will include full Akuma hunter armor sets and layered equipment that unlock unique gameplay mechanics. When equipped, these sets allow players to perform authentic Street Fighter moves through special item commands and gestures. The “Assisted Combo: Akuma” feature enables combo attacks and signature moves like Gou Hadoken and Gou Shoryuken, with attack power scaling based on the player’s equipped weapon.
The update recreates Street Fighter 6’s Drive Impact system within Monster Hunter Wilds’ combat framework. Players wearing the full armor set receive enhanced attack power compared to layered armor users, with combos gaining stun properties and Drive Impact actions providing offset effects.

Additional free rewards include Blanka-Chan Palico armor sets, hunter profile customization options including backgrounds, nameplates, and poses. Completing the collaboration’s arena quests “Demonic Strength” and “True Strength” provides further rewards.
Capcom will offer premium downloadable content alongside the free update, though pricing remains unannounced. The paid DLC includes Chun-Li and Cammy outfits for companion character Alma, a Blanka-Chan Doll pendant, Street Fighter 6 sticker sets, and gesture packs featuring iconic moves like Hadoken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku. Notably, these gestures possess attack properties within the game.
