HoloEarth is A Hololive MMO Coming Soon To PC

COVER Corp and Hololive have announced HoloEarth , the flagship product for Hololive Alternative, which will present a virtual world for fans to engage with on PC.

Announced last night, the project will serve as a metaverse-type project which will allow players to go on adventures with each other and fight monsters.

That being said, they’ve also said they want to use it as a venue for special events, so there’s no ruling out that they’re also looking into it as a virtual event space for their talents.

There’s no fixed release date for the project yet, since it looks like the game is very early in development. However the website says you can expect it to be playable within the next two years, and development is focused on getting it out on PC first.

HoloEarth Multiple Projects

From the announcement, it looks like HoloEarth is actually multiple projects, listed as below:

 Sandbox game

We are developing an open-world sandbox game in which players can go on adventures and experience daily life. You can battle monsters, build a house to live in, and immerse yourself in the world of Holoearth. Every player will have a new story to tell.

 Communication lobby

This lobby will serve as the gateway to Holoearth, where you can meet and converse with other fans. Here, you can recruit a party to go adventuring within the sandbox game. We are also hoping to hold special events in this space in the future.

 Avatar creation system

We are developing an avatar creation system to allow prospective adventurers to create the bodies they will inhabit when they enter the world of Holoearth. Through the course of your adventures and daily interactions, you will be able to collect, equip, and customize various outfits, equipment, and accessories for your avatar body.

This also seems pretty consistent with the previously reported Hololive Unity game that COVER Corp was previously hiring for.

Considering how much of Hololive Alternative’s teaser seemed to be centred around blending the background stories of various Hololive talents together, it makes sense that they’d be going for some sort of MMO experience with HoloEarth.
