Out of the blue, Bandai Namco announced that Tales of the Rays, their latest smartphone RPG and entry in the Tales of series, will be made available in the west this coming summer.
As with other games in the franchise, the protagonist in Tales of the Rays will see you embark on an adventure to defeat a looming evil. Along the way, you will recruit an assortment of characters to join your party, from past Tales games such as Yuri and Repede from Tales of Vesperia as well as Luke fon Fabre from Tales of the Abyss.
Instead of an entirely new battle system, the game will feature the Linear Motion Battle system found in the more recent games. The battle system involves a series of taps and slides, with the addition of a Chain Capacity system which lets you combine skills to make an even stronger attack. Traverse the expansive game world, as you explore dungeons and take on threats along the way.
