With its release less than 2 weeks away, Nintendo revealed a new trailer for New Pokemon Snap, showcasing many of its gameplay mechanics.

The video, titled “New Pokémon Snap – Overview Trailer – Nintendo Switch” stretches over 6 minutes long and introduces features such as Fluffruit and Illumina Orbs. You can watch the trailer here:

New Pokemon Snap places players into the shoes of a Pokemon photographer intent on filling up the Photodex. Players will ride the NEO-ONE, an automated vehicle of sorts as they travel across the Lental region snapping photos of all kinds of Pokemon.

The trailer gives a rather in-depth look at gameplay mechanics for players. The Fluffruit, Illumina Orb and Melody mechanics allow players to get a reaction out of Pokemon, which will ideally result in better photos.

Besides these features, the game also has the Scan mechanic. Scan lets players detect hidden or hard-to-see Pokemon. It can also inspect elements in the surroundings. Some Pokemon will even react to the sound of the Scan. Scan also lets players venture into alternate routes on a level.

In addition, players can find new Pokemon by increasing the Research Level of an area.

The trailer also explains the criteria for getting photos with higher scores. The game also has a photo editing feature and a ranking system.

New Pokemon Snap will release on 30th April 2021 for the Switch.
