Unital Ring is coming to Sword Art Online (SAO) mobile games

In a new trailer, popular light novel/anime Sword Art Online (SAO) teased the upcoming arrival of the Unital Ring Arc to its mobile games. You can watch the trailer here:

Sword Art Online Alicization Rising Steel, Sword Art Online: Integral Factor and Sword Art Online: Memory Defrag will get a new update featuring the new story arc. Note that while all three of the aforementioned titles are different mobile games, all of them will receive their own version of new content, centred around Unital Ring.

To the unaware, Unital Ring is the fifth and latest story arc in Sword Art Online. Taking place after Alicization, this arc sees Kirito and friends taking on a new VR game titled Unital Ring.

Currently, this arc is still ongoing in the light novel. The third and fourth seasons of Sword Art Online‘s anime covered the entirety of Alicization and is currently ahead of the manga. While the next season of SAO will most likely cover Unital Ring, it is unknown when the latest story arc will get an anime adaptation.

As SAO teases the coming of Unital Ring to its mobile games, gamers might potentially get to witness the arc unfold in the games ahead of the anime.

In January, the newest SAO mobile game, Sword Art Online Black Swordsman: ACE concluded its closed beta testing.
