Suffice to say, it’s not been a great week to be a fan of Cyberpunk 2077. Although the game has done very well financially, recouping its development costs in a day, the game’s poor reception among fans has prompted an apology from developers CD Projekt Red.

In a tweet featuring the eponymous yellow background, CD Projekt Red apologized for many of the issues brought up in the past week.

“First of all, we would like to apologize to you for not showing the game on base last-gen consoles before it premiered, and in consequence, not allowing you to make a more informed decision about your purchase”, the tweet reads. “We should have paid more attention to making it play better on Playstation 4 and Xbox One”.

CD Projekt Red also announced several waves of updates, aimed at fixing performance issues. They said to expect the first one within the next 7 days, with two more coming in January and February respectively.

They also implored gamers to give Cyberpunk 2077 a chance to get better, although they said they understood if fans would rather have a refund. As such they’ve opened their helpline for customers with physical copies looking to get a refund until December 21st, 2020.

As the tweet was more directed towards console players, they didn’t mention anything about refunds for PC copies, using Steam or GOG’s refund policies.
