Today marks the launch of the Taiko No Tatsujin: Drum N Fun Private Match Update. The free update will allow you to compete against friends in private matches online.
All you’ll need to do is set a passcode, then have your friend enter the same passcode to get you into the same game. It’s not an uncommon means of security, used in plenty of games with a private lobby system.
You can challenge your friend to score battles, where you compete on the same song to see who can get the better performance score. Essentially, it’s a great way to recreate the arcade experience of Taiko while still staying home.
This is a great update given the current social climate, which sees many arcades losing money due to the raging Covid-19 pandemic.
Taiko No Tatsujin itself is an arcade staple, thanks to its much simpler inputs compared to rhythm games like Dance Dance Revolution, which end up being a full body workout. With the release of Taiko No Tatsujin: Drum N Fun on Nintendo Switch, the experience has since been further simplified.
The Taiko No Tatsujin: Drum N Fun Private Match Update is available for download now, for free on the Nintendo Switch.
