PC games to play during the restricted movement control order

With events getting cancelled left and right and the coronavirus scare not abating, it’s time to break out those PC games to play while the restricted movement control order is in effect for all of us here in Malaysia. Without further ado, here’s our picks!

THE WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT

This massively open world RPG will be seeing a follow up once Cyberpunk 2077 completes. It’s certainly the biggest and the best game of the series yet, having made an impressive port to the Nintendo Switch as well. There’s also the Netflix live action series, which adapts various parts of the book. Whatever it is, The Witcher 3 is not a game you should miss, and you’d certainly have lots of time to get lost alongside Geralt. Maybe you can even turn on Nvidia HairWorks to really appreciate Geralt’s magnificent locks.

DOTA 2

The game of the hallowed The International, an event seemingly determined to top its previous iteration in absolutely ridiculous prize pools. While MOBAs by their nature aren’t necessarily the most graphically intensive games, the map changes undergone in the title – not forgetting the bling of Arcana sets – it can get that PC chugging if it’s not powerful enough.

BORDERLANDS 3

The game is finally out on Steam, so now’s your chance to join in the intergalactic looting shooting spree if you avoided the Epic Games Store initial release. You can even cross-play with EGS friends, so there’s nothing to worry about. The next, second paid expansion will be coming soon to the game, so might as well get that headstart to the Vaults before it hits! Every frame counts when them bandits are crawling at you from every pore of the earth, not forgetting the animal denizens of the planets you visit!

FORTNITE

Stop us if you’ve heard about this little known battle royale game called Fortnite. A phenomenal cultural sensation, it’s colourful, it’s wild, it’s a free battle royale that you can jump right in. With plenty of cosmetics that others are wearing – that you can join in with – why not crank those graphics up and admire that fashion sense?

RED DEAD REDEMPTION II

Rockstar’s open world Wild West saga boasts some of the greatest attention to detail ever in a game. Get in the saddle and settle in for a long ride across the dusty plains facing down gangs and bounty hunters as you gallop through this epic.

If you’ve got nothing else to do with movement and travel restricted, then it’s at least a good excuse to get started on some of these games to play and give that PC a good ol’ workout, or gaming laptop, as it were.

To sweeten the deal just a little bit, as promised by its name, it’s thin, and much lighter than the Alpha 15 above (1.86 kg to 2.3 kg).

You can always peruse MSI’s catalog to find your best fit. Once the restricted movement order passes, you can still play these great PC games on the go with your gaming laptop, so consider it a long-term investment!
